The divers ascend near the rear kingpost on the Aikoku Maru.

The Aikoku Maru was used as a combined freighter/passenger liner.  The stern lies at 73 metres

We descended over a kingpost in very clear water with no tide and headed down towards the stern.  I kept above the others but followed Neil to the stern gun where he took some photos.  It was 49.2 metres at the base of the gun, which is an 8cm High Angle Gun and is pointing upwards.  We moved back along the deck.  The others entered the superstructure and then saw where the front of the ship had been blown to bits.  It was a beautiful, peaceful dive with minimal decompression and unused pony bottles.
